Frequently Asked Questions
Have a look through our frequently asked questions to make an informed choice about what is best for your business.
My business relies on phone calls, will I experience any downtime during the changeover?
The downtime experienced is very minimal, limited to a couple of minutes. During this time we can set up diverts to mobiles to ensure you do not miss any calls. We can carry out change overs in the evening or over a weekend if it is required.
How will you support the phones and my business going forward?
Our engineers are one phone call away! Our helpdesk is active from 09:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday where you will be able to speak to one of the team and resolve your issue. You can also speak to your account manager regarding any queries or problems you may have.
What if the internet goes down?
Unfortunately, nothing is perfect and occasionally the internet can go down, in the same way that phone lines can go down. The advantage of using the cloud is that should the internet go down then you still have complete control of your calls as it is your solution is hosted by us. You can divert calls to other numbers or use our mobile apps to have the same full functionality as a desk phone. We also often recommend providing a second broadband for the phones to run on. This provides a failover from both sides, meaning your business always stays connected even if one of the broadband lines were to go down.
Maintenance and Warranty, how am I covered?
With our cloud solution, maintenance is easier and more effective than ever as the server is hosted with us. This means we are able to tweak things and make the majority of changes our end meaning quick service. In the event that a handset is faulty, the warranty allows that handset to be swapped out with next day delivery. Our engineers are of course also available to come to your site in the event they are needed.
I’ve heard about mobile apps linking with the phone system, how do they work?
Our Cloud solution uses a smartphone app called IPCS (and IPCS 2 for iPhone) which allows users to log into the cloud solution through their mobile phone. This effectively gives you access to your desk phone on your mobile. When enabled:
- Access to call logs, contacts and favourites
- Calls to your business will be received on your mobile
- Outbound calls through the app will show your business’ phone number rather than your mobile number
- Your mobile will still function as standard with the app enabled. If someone rings your mobile number you will receive the call as normal
